Tamba Yaki Kinsai Plate (Bird and Dragonfly) by Chiyoichi Shimizu

Chiyoichi Shimizu is a Tamba-yaki artist based in Tamba, Hyogo. He is inheriting the traditional kiln with his son, Masatoshi Shimizu.
They cherish the environment and soil of Tamba-Tachikui, while preserving the traditional Tamba ware, renowned as a representative ceramic art. They strive daily to create unique works that align with a contemporary sensibility, focusing on techniques such as yakishime (unglazed stoneware), iron glaze, and ash glaze.
